ABSTRACT: Chelsea Harring-Cozzi is the executive director of the Coalition for Homelessness         Intervention Prevention (CHIP). CHIP is a backbone agency; they fund organizations that work         directly with the homeless. She is an advocate for the homeless, and her mantra is that everyone deserves the right to housing. Her LinkedIn Profile tells the audience a lot about her, and you can see her dedication to ending and preventing homelessness in Indianapolis.

ABSTRACT: The Indianapolis Continuum of Care (Indy CoC) is an agency that is funded by the        Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP). CoC provides housing and

funding for people that are experiencing homelessness, these can be permanent or temporary living arrangements depending on the level of need. They also work to prevent homelessness in the first place. Like CHIP, Indy CoC also believes that housing should be a human right.

TEAM NOTES: I figured this would be a nice outlet as a reference to the types of organizations

that CHIP funds. Indy Coc is their main partner, and our client mentioned them in our Zoom meeting.

Rine, C. M., & LaBarre, C. (2020). Research, Practice, and Policy Strategies to End Homelessness. Health & Social Work, 45(1), 5–8. https://web.s.ebscohost.com/ehost

ABSTRACT: The field of social work comes with many challenges regarding social issues. Part of ending homelessness will come from the effort and dedication of social workers in that field. The social worker's job will be to analyze what causes people to be homeless, where homelessness is most prevalent, and what it will take to end homelessness. It is important that a social worker understands housing costs in areas where homelessness is shown most.

TEAM NOTES: This article can be useful to us if we need to get to the root of homelessness in areas that have high homeless rates. The article is mostly about how social workers are qualified with the skills to prevent and end homelessness. "Policy strategies for social workers to end homelessness hinge on broadening and increasing funding for existing programs and designing and pioneering new ones that rely on diverse funding sources." This is the beginning of the paragraph that would be most helpful to us, and this is also what we're doing for this project.

ABSTRACT: Funding and grants are needed to keep a nonprofit organization running. Especially nonprofits for serious social issues such as homelessness. In 2018, Jeff Bezos created a Day 1 Families Fund; this fund supports nonprofit organizations to get families safely into homes that are permanent and that are affordable. CHIP was 1 of 42 nonprofits to receive this fund.
